Amsterdam with a sneeze

We didn't have the best of weather, but escaping the drizzle and trotting through Amsterdam's cafès all afternoon was really lovely. We watched ice skaters on the frozen canals, indulged in hot chocomel, couldn't get enough of admiring all those oversized windows, and I croaked with joy (due to a terrible cold I caught last week) over the fact that there are various cafés with cats sitting or lying around on tables and benches. They don't mind the noise at all, the chatters and slamming of doors, cold air and crowds of people rolling in and out. They doze, stretch, and are seemingly above all things.

The cold I caught gives the strangest tone to my voice. Like as if I've been on a music concert and cheered with heart and soul until the early hours. But all I'm really doing is having tea. And enjoying chicken broth. I'm full of ideas already for new projects, but it's important to give the body a rest when it asks for a time out. I hope you'll stay healthy during this strange drop of temperatures.

    1. It really was a wonderful short trip, and I'm sure I'll be back some time in the summer, to take a few more pictures of those adorable café-cats. You should share yours!
